What makes this tour special

The Heart of Munich
You will begin your tour of the political highlights of Munich, in the historic Old Town, where you will be visiting the 12th century, heart of the city- Marienplatz. Here you will see the neo-gothic Rathaus (New Town Hall), complete with its world-famous Glockenspiel clock. A short walk on, you will come across the Viktualienmarkt, a bustling market district where you can pick up anything from flowers, spices and traditional German fare.

You will then head back to Marienplatz to see the stunning medieval Frauenkirche (Cathedral of Our Dear Lady), with its little green domes that sit atop its two towers and unrestricted views of beautiful Munich, and the Alps off into the distance. You will then have the pleasure of paying a visit to Odeonsplatz which is home to fantastic German institutions such as the Concert Hall, Theatre, and the Residenz.

From Englischer Garten to Dachau Camp

You will walk on to the historic Bavarian parliament and where you can walk along the Isar and approach the beautiful Englischer Garten. Established in 1789, the Englischer Garten is Munich’s most famous city park and is also the oldest in the world. Here you will find the exceptional Chinesischer Turm (Chinese Tower), surrounded by a gorgeous oriental garden and cafe.

You will then proceed to take the suburban train to Dachau concentration camp. Today the camp serves as a reminder for the horrors during the Second World War. About 30 minutes from central Munich, the camp was one of the first to be opened in Germany and saw over 40,000 people die here.

After your tour you will either have the option of visiting a local Biergarten or the nearby Hofbrauhaus, a traditional German beer hall, serving amazing German food and the best local beers.
