Teotihuacán, “The City of the Gods” in Nahuatl, was the name given by the Mexica (also known as Aztecs) for this impressive city largely created before 250 C.E.
The most popular landmarks within this archaeological park are the Avenue of the Dead, the main artery of the city, the Ciudadela, a sunken square at the southernmost area, the Pyramid of the Feathered Serpent, the Pyramid of the Sun, and the Pyramid of the Moon located at the northernmost point.
